We are currently filming with several groups of indigenous Mayan women in the Yucatan who are conserving the endangered Melipona bees. In March, we had the pleasure of documenting the women meliponaculturas of Jardin Alak, a mayan educational center based just outside of Valladolid. Through caring for these precious native bees, these women are preserving their cultural heritage which spans back more than 3200 yrs. We hope to return in March 2025 to continue documenting their stories.
